The government has extended the eviction ban in England and Wales by 4 weeks.
Ministers had come under pressure over recent weeks to extend the eviction ban with a warning that thousands of people could lose their homes.
The eviction ban first came into force in March across the UK. Scotland and Northern Ireland have increased their eviction bans until March next year.

Whilst it has only been extended by 4 weeks across England & Wales the government has also increased notice periods to 6 months. All tenants must be given 6 months notice in a bid to support tenants over the winter months.
Some have called for more action from the government to help private landlords deal with tenant arrears.
National Landlords Association calls for more action
Chief Executive of the National Landlords Association said…
“Private landlords cannot be expected to foot the bill for government failure. There must now be a plan to support households to pay their bills and to compensate landlords fully for their lost income.”
